Domaine Bariol has been in the Altrayac family since the 1300s, when the area was a stronghold of the Knights Templar. The domaine is built from huge blocks of stone and has seen better days, it might be described as rustic shabby-chic. The winery is the cellar and is the most modern aspect of the domaine. The cellar itself is dimly lit and smells musty, completely belieing the characterful, fresh and fragrant wine found in the gleaming stainless steel tanks. A diamond in the rough!
Domaine Bariol 2016 is an elegant white with aromas of peach and apricot and a lovely fresh citrus flavor, leaving a delightful freshness and balance. Perfect with roast chicken dishes, creamy pasta and smoked salmon.
